In surveys conducted amongst peers, youngsters are asked to rate their peer group (usually their class) by responding to queries such as:

·     With that, two individuals in this group would most enjoy going to a picnic?

What are controversial youngsters like?

"Controversial children" receive each highly positive and highly negative rating from their peers. In different words, some peers love the controversial kid (i.e., call him a "best friend") whereas others strongly dislike him.

Controversial youngsters have characteristics that set them apart from their peers. They have an inclination to be more aggressive than others their age. As a result of this, they usually cause problems in the co ed schools in dehradun and make interpersonal troubles with peers. That said, controversial youngsters are usually as socially competent as popular children, and have the capability to be friendly, helpful and cooperative. They tend to be natural leaders and are generally respected for his or her willingness to jump in and take charge.

Thus polemic children have both negative and positive characteristics, leading some kids — and academics — to think that these styles of children are wonderful whereas causing others to believe they are nothing but trouble.

Researchers believe that there are relatively few youngsters who fit the "controversial" profile. Perhaps, as a result, little analysis has been done to understand this group higher. Among the few things, researchers will say about the controversial kid is that:

·     Girls are more "controversial" in community settings than in the schoolroom

·     Controversial youngsters usually have a good deal in common with popular children

It is commonplace for a controversial kid to vary status over time, and sometimes join the "popular" group as a result of their strong social skills.
